I had a very bad experience with HolidayCars.com. Do your research well before booking with them.
1. holidaycars.com has strict and unforgiving terms — for example if your flight is delayed or you arrive late (1 hour), they treat it as a no-show and keep your money.
2. They try everything to NOT refund (even if you are eligible). The customer service is making up facts to get around it. For example they are making up that the ING bank is a neo bank. If you want a refund you will have to escalate legally.
3. Be warned that the bank for which you have a credit card is a physical bank or you will not get the car and not get a refund (it's in the terms and conditions of point 1.)
Lessons learned for next time:
- Avoid HolidayCars.com if flexibility and reliable support are important.
- Book directly with the rental company whenever possible — you’ll get better protection if your flight is delayed or plans change.
- If you must use a broker, read the cancellation and no-show policy very carefully.
- Always pay with a credit card, so you can dispute unfair charges with your bank.
